Hi, hello, Season’s Greetings. It’s Denzil

Can we just take a second?

Because wow… what a year. 🤯

I just need to start by saying thank you. Truly. ♥️ For tuning in. For sharing your stories. For riding along in this weird and wonderful journey we call Radio Front Desk. This year was a big one. And I’m deeply grateful to have had you alongside me through it all.

And so to show my appreciation, I wanted to leave you with something special.

This time of year always gets me a little reflective. I’ll catch myself staring out a window thinking, did we really do all that? And so this past week, we’ve been posting some year-end prompts on Instagram to help you reflect, too! Just little nudges to stop and think about how you’ve been showing up for yourself, for your clinic, and for your patients.

And… surprise. 🎁

We gathered them all up and turned them into a self-reflection journal for you to download, scribble in, and make your own.

It’s our way of giving you a small pause. A pocket of time to take stock of everything you moved through this year… because trust me, I know it was a lot. 😅

I do hope you take a moment to pause and reflect. It’s so easy for wonderful little moments to get lost in the wave of everything else happening in a year.

When I looked back, I found a whole bunch of wonderful (and wacky) podcast moments I’d almost forgotten about. We had lots of laughs, even more learnings… and a few ‘did this really just happen?’ moments.

Here are a few of my faves:

A guest who stuck with me:

Dr. Kellen (who said yes to being on the podcast before it was even really a thing) showed me once more why I respect him and his grit so much.

The not-so-smooth parts:

One virtual interview started with 30 minutes of audio and headphone troubleshooting. It was pretty shaky, but we got through it. And just as I was starting to relax again, the building started shaking. That’s right... there was a literal earthquake. Honestly? On brand.

The topic that surprised me most:

As a tech company, we talk about AI every day. But when I stepped outside our internal bubble and listened to you, the clinic owners and practitioners, I realized there’s a wide spectrum of opinions. We first started investigating this topic in our magazine article, Can ChatGPT Be a Therapist? …. which kinda went viral. 😅 So many of you wrote in to share your thoughts, big feelings, and questions. And I loved it.

Now I'm proud to say that we've turned it into our final episode of the year. I hope you'll give it a listen!

What I learned as a host:

The conversations this year taught me to be both captain and anchor… guiding the story while making space for guests to exhale and be themselves.

My favourite blooper

Onstage at the Retreat panel (in front of 400 people), responding to something wonderful our guest Josh said, I meant to say “I love that.” What came out was: “I love you.” In front of everyone. Still blushing.

A peek behind the curtain at the wild, wacky, and wonderful year of Radio Front Desk.

When I look back on this year, I keep coming back to a feeling of true gratitude.

Not just for what we built with the podcast… but for who showed up.

You.

You’ve Listened. You’ve reached out. You’ve cheered us on all the way. You’ve helped turn a little experiment into something real and resonant.

So before the year sweeps you into whatever’s next, I hope you take a moment to look back and feel proud. You made it through a lot.. and maybe even grew in ways you haven’t noticed yet.

Thank you for letting me be part of your inbox, your commute, your wind-down walk.

See you in the new year,

Denzil, Editor-in-Chief of Front Desk
